If this thought has crossed your mind before–speaking from a healers standpoint–“What the hell did you do to him/her this time?!” ūüôā Do you hear Puddle of Mud’s “She Hates Me” playing in your head? One thing that every player should know–whether¬†he/she is the tank, dps, bench warmer, or sub–do not piss off the healer.¬† We do not easily forget, and some of us don’t forgive easily! I personally have a Little Black book that I SLAM names into every time they tick me off.¬† They would be foolish to think that I would forget.¬† I still remember when our Rogue got control of a fiery bird in Firelands…turned it on ME and fried me to a crisp.¬† It was on from that point forward.¬† Needless to say, I wasn’t healing him very much after that.

So what do you do when your healer hates you?! There is redemption, and there are a few ways to even secure yourself a warm place on the healers grid.

How NOT to piss off your healer

1.  Move your toosh out of stuff.  Nothing is worse than having to heal a player who goes swimming in fire patches.

2. Don’t kill your healer! AKA Rogue Trixing their healers probably isn’t a good idea! (no hate there, no way!)

3.Don’t ever, under ANY circumstances refer to the healers as “Heals.” We all have names! How would you like to be called, “hey tank,” “Yo hunter.” No. Just no.¬† Don’t do it.

4. Never ever ask for heals unless you are priority.¬† Under certain circumstances, the tank/raid leader may call out for needed assistance.¬† This is fine.¬† What isn’t fine is when a player assumes that the healer is so dumb that they can’t comprehend who needs heals.¬† Hey, if you are priority you will be healed! Nothing is more annoying than being told how to do your job, or who to heal.¬† We can figure it out ūüôā kthx.

How to secure a warm spot on your healers grid ūüôā (Disclaimer: This may differ from healer to healer, but as far as my warm-souled self is concerned, these are MY basics!)

1. Hug your healer.¬† I love hugs.¬†ūüôā

2. Have you ever spoken to your healer? Get to know ’em! The more someone knows about you, the more inclined they are to keep you in tip top shape! ( I personally heal people who talk to me, and are nice ūüôā I feel like I try to keep them in better health O:) )

3.Play a priest, and announce your undying love for priests.¬† ‚̧ Hehe, no bias there! Not at all!

4. Give your healer presents! Hey, bribery isn’t dead!

5. Stand in our aoe healing thingies ūüôā they don’t bite!

Pretty basic, am I right? Overall, Tanks get priority when it comes to healing, but don’t slack off and think that there isn’t a priority list among DPS.¬† Are you in your healers little black book? Where do you lie on the “list”? ūüôā

So, it’s the end of the expansion and it’s time to plan some fun things! It started with our GM mentioning giving away a mount. ¬†Well, yesterday I was making a Delicate Queen’s Garnet for one of our awesome hunters and I had all sorts of agility users purring at me about the gem. ¬†So it’s my gems bring all the boys to the yard! If everyone goes gaga for them, why not give some away?! Giving things away is easy, the next step was to think of a creative way to do this, so what better way than to Google it! These are some interesting things I found, and I added my own adaptation to some of them.

Guild Games

  1. Rat race- Race from point A. to point B.¬† Make teams for a relay style.¬† In FL! There’s plenty of mobs you can leave alive that could accidentally be pulled, and the place is just HUGE.
  2. Musical chairs. (YES!!!!)
  3. Best outfit- Lingerie party themed would be f*cking HILARIOUS!
  4. Cow Darts-Everyone brings on their Taurens to Thunderbluff. ¬†The game master leaps off one of the cliffs and dies (not releasing of course.) ¬†Now, everyone gathers at the cliff and tries to land on the game master’s corpse. ¬†Everyone gets 3 tries to land on the game master’s corpse. ¬†Who would have ever thought that dieing would be this fun?! (When we do this, I’ll sooooo video it ūüôā )
  5. Leather ball toss- this one is a game of who can unload more balls onto a friendly player’s bag.  This would be a fun thing to start at the beginning of raid, and do throughout, or simply let loose in a guild pvp match.
  6. Screenshot competition This one seems to be fairly popular, and would be fun to theme.

I’m going to suggest this list to our GM to see what he thinks!

Happy 4.3! It was very refreshing to see new content, and meet some new challenges.¬† Here are the patch notes for 4.3.¬† To help myself better understand all the changes, I’m going to go over them and also offer my opinion on the changes made.¬† Are you excited?! Here we go!

Divine Hymn: Now affects 5 targets up from 3.¬† FINALLY! I have always been jealous of other classes CD’s.¬† It’s never a good feeling to be on a CD rotation and have to pop Divine Hymn, but also spam Prayer of Healing because your CD just wasn’t cutting it.¬†¬† I think this is an aspect of that talent that was due for this type of TLC.¬† Thank you Blizz ūüôā

  • Atonement will now account for the target enemy’s combat reach when calculating proper range, enabling it to be used on large creatures such as Ragnaros¬†and Ala’kir.¬†
  • Divine Aegis has a new spell effect.¬† Critical heals, and all heals from PoH create a protective shield on the target, absorbing 30% of the amount healed.¬† Lasts 15 seconds.

  • Spirit of Redemption has been rebuilt to address a few functionality issues and make it more responsive. Spirit of Redemption otherwise remains unchanged.¬†¬†I’m tempted just to kill my toon¬†so I can try to notice these changes…LOL.¬† They must be very subtle changes.
  • State of Mind has been redesigned and is now called Heavenly Voice. Heavenly Voice increases the healing done by Divine Hymn by 50/100%, and reduces the cooldown of Divine Hymn by 2.5/5 minutes.¬†¬†(I”m currently not specced into this, and I think it is¬† a must in order to balance your CD’s with other classes.)¬†
  • Guardian Spirit’s healing bonus has been increased to 60%, up from 40%.
  • Holy Word: Serenity now has a cooldown of 10 seconds, down from 15 seconds.

  • Glyph of Circle of Healing now also increases the mana cost of Circle of Healing by 20%.¬† This is something to watch out for.¬† It seems customary to use Circle of Healing as a no brainer, and using it at¬†inappropriate times now¬†¬†will end up hurting your efficiency.¬†¬†¬†

Holy has been overlooked in Cataclysm, and I’ve seen many situations where Disc has been preferred in raids over holy.¬† One of the arguments was¬†that holy lacked a strong CD, until now.¬† With State of Mind being replaced by Heavenly Voice, and the amount of targets going up from 3 to 5, ¬†I believe that holy will be more attractive as far as CD’s are concerned.¬† Holy is making a bit of a comeback in this patch, and it’s exciting! ūüôā

I was curious at what the talents looked like.  I heard they were really different! So I looked, and I decided that this is 100% post worthy.  Here it is.

So my first reaction to clicking on the cute little priest tab is…What the butt! Really? Seriously? I’m ready for the punch line.

A¬†3 by¬†6 box appears, and 18 talent options become available.¬† You may¬†chose¬† 1 box from each row, amounting to 6 talents.¬† No, you didn’t read that wrong.¬† 6.¬† That’s it.¬† I know what you may be thinking, are you freaking kidding me? That was my exact reaction.¬† I am not a huge lore follower, and I honestly like Pandas so that part of it is cute.¬† But the talent tree!! Oh my Atlanta.¬† What are they trying to do? Take away all personalization, and a core part of what makes each toon unique? If I am missing some master plot to make this okay, please someone enlighten me!

At a first glance, I’m going to be perfectly honest with you, I am not to fond of this talent situation.¬† I am a very casual player, I enjoy learning new things and the difficulties presented by the game, but I feel like Blizzard is dumbing down the game to appeal to the masses.¬† I am trying not to make to many assumptions before I actually experience the changes…but they do not look promising!

So, it’s right before the patch and things in World of Warcraft are a little “less” exciting.¬† Healing is especially boring.¬† I have two healing specs on my priest, so dpsing (not that I ever would!) is out.¬† So what am I doing to pass time?

1. Continue the never-ending fight against Ragnaros! We are down to raiding only 2 nights a week, for 3 hours.  3 hours of pulling Rag is enough to make me want to claw my eyes out, but make heals not pain! We are so close.  I hope we get him before the next patch.

2. My favorite thing in the world! acquiring¬†more pets ūüôā I absolutely adore pets, and I just reached my 120th pet today after farming Mr. Grubbs for 3 hours.¬† I also got my Illustrious Grand Master in archaeology.¬† I still need 4/5 of those pets.¬† Soooo¬†that is my next mission! I also recommend Mr. Grubbs to any pet lovers ūüôā I have a feeling he will be a nice contender¬†in the pet battling system.¬† He somersaults¬†over your head! He is quite the little acrobat.¬† Also, I was farming him in the Eastern Plaguelands¬†and Deathwing lit up my spot and popped my angel! :O His days are numbered!

3. Fire sitting.¬† Yes, I’m guilty of logging on Wow just to pass time, and doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. My favorite spot to sit and talk away is in Orgrimmar¬†in the Valley of Wisdom.¬† There is a giant bonfire to the left of the banker Tatepi.¬† I don’t like leaving my Priestess just chilling in the middle of nowhere! Mounts sit on her and everything.¬† Plus my guildies¬†all roam up there, so its a great place!

4. Leveling alts.¬† Up until this year I had one 85, my priest.¬† Recently, I leveled my Hunter, and holy Pally¬†to 85.¬† I’ve raided casually on both of them recently, but I’m not overly comfortable with either of them.¬† With the patch coming up so quickly, I think I would become aggravated to learn them, and then have them change.¬† I think I’m going to take it easy when it comes to altage for now.

¬†Honestly, with RL college work, and an awesome social life these things listed above are not too boring.¬† I’m not easily entertained however! So I’m anxiously awaiting the patch ūüôā Yay!

One of our guild¬†mates, a Shadow Priest, ¬†has recently started the epic quest line for Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa’s Rest.¬† What I really like about this particular quest chain is that it’s really a group effort.¬† He has completed the quest chain all the way up to Delegation, and at this particular stage he has to complete certain tasks during the Boss fights.¬†

Shannox –Each time a crystal prism trap is destroyed 3 emberstone¬†fragments appear on the ground.¬† You need to loot these and create a Dull Emberstone¬†Focus.¬† This item must then be placed in the area of a thrown spear.¬† A red marker appears in the location where the item must be used.¬† If done correctly the spear will charge the focus, turning it into a Charged Emberstone Focus, which can be looted from the ground! Yay!

Beth’tilac-Each Cinderweb¬†Drones drop 3 Chitinous Fragments.¬† Yes, 3 each.¬† We seemed to have missed that little tidbit¬†that EACH drone drops 3, and with the fight being a little time sensitive we wiped it a few times.¬† So, after getting the 3 Chitinous frags you can combined them into a Dull Chitinous Focus.¬† Then you climb to the upper level, place the item on the ground, then get the heck out of there before smoldering devastation.¬† After smoldering devastation is cast, the focus will become charged, and you simply go back to the upper level to retrieve your charged Chitinous focus.¬†

Alysrazor-Each time¬† a Voracious Hatchling hatches from an egg it will leave a Pryreshell¬†fragment that you have to collect 3 of.¬† All good things come in 3’s! These combine together to form a Dull Pryreshell¬†Focus.¬† This focus is placed under Alysrazor¬†in either stage 3 or 4, and when he reaches 100 energy it will become a Charged Pyreshell¬†Focus.¬† It can be looted from the ground afterwards.¬†¬† Our spriest¬†was able to do this while still going into the air and doing his normal routine–so it’s not routine altering.

Lord Rhyolith-At random times Rhyolite fragments will appear on the platform, and again you have to collect 3 of them to turn into a Dull Rhyolite Focus.  They look like little dirt piles.  To charge the focus, you place in under Rhyolith right before he does a Concussive Stomp.  Tada! Loot your charged Rhyolite Focus.

The Anvil of ConflagarationРThe entrance of the teleporter is found at the end of a pathway located between Beth, and Baleroc.  Inside the portal is the Branch of Nordrassil, which is being channeled by 4 Harbingers of Flame.  Killing them is Phase 1.  After they are killed, in order to start phase 2 our spriest has to attempt to retrieve the Branch of Nordrassil.  Phase 2 is facing the Tormented Protector.  Our strat for this is to tank the Tormented Protector near the portal entrance to avoid the spawning adds in the middle of the room, and to also stack for aoe heals as well as a mass dispell.

That is as far as we have gotten so far.¬† We went a little past raid time this past week, but we’ve got the gist of it! It’s really fun to help our Spriest¬†through this because it gives us a little break from the repetative¬†grind of the Firelands.¬†¬† It also goes to show that our guild is patient, and really just great :).¬† This accomplishment will be a full on guild effort, and it’ll dull the pain of the post expansion blues.¬†
