squirrelrightMechanical pets are a great addition to any team! They are furry, and cuddly and adorable and—and—and! Whoops.  I mean cute and assembled. These little guys can pack a wallop if you aren’t squirrel2 careful.  “Come with me if you want to live!” Mechanical Squirrels have great defensive abilities like Extra Plating, and Repair.  Extra Plating reduces all damage done by 50% for 3 rounds, and Repair heals your pet for a significant amount! (depends on your pet’s level).  This pet is not too be underestimated! A well-played level 22 squirrel can easily take out 3 level 25 wild pets without rusting his tail.  At level 20 mechanical squirrels get a mean ability called Windup.  The first use increases damage by 10%, the second unleashes a flurry of attacks that could very well knock a pets lights out! That my friends, is one tough metal head.

STORM PEAKS WEATHER FORCAST: Today will be partly cloudy, with a high of 30 and a low of 15.  Snow will accumulate shortly after maintenance, and dwindle off near the afternoon.

FINALLY.  I nearly jumped out of my seat with joy when I saw the snow blowing around K3.  I had been camping the Storm Peaks for the better part of a week and a half.  The goal was to complete Northrend Tamer, which would in turn give me Continental Tamer.  I was having terrible luck at seeing any sign of snow, and I began to wonder if it was a myth!

My guild master had told me that he had never noticed any snowfall in the Storm Peaks.  I was floored.  Does this snow exist? Well, as you can see above, it most definitely does.  Pets that reside in the Storm Peaks will only show themselves when it is snowing.  These pets are the Arctic Fox Kit, Arctic Hare, Mountain Skunk, and Spider.  The Arctic Fox can only be found in the Storm Peaks.  I searched for a short time for the Rare Arctic Fox kit, but unfortunately I only came across uncommon ones.

It seems to be all up to luck.  From time to time I would ask in General chat if it had snowed that day, and sometimes people would say it had snowed at 3 p.m. , or very early that morning.  I managed to catch it snowing right after maintenance.   If you are hunting up that way, waiting for the pets to scurry out I would suggest to try after maintenance!  Happy Hunting.

Could you imagine a World of Warcraft without pets? No.  It’s almost a nightmare, or like one of those low-budget horror movies.   I believe Zombieland said it best by saying “Enjoy the little things.”  And that for me, are the pets!

I currently have 115 pets (without farming).  There are a couple of rituals I have that I do daily when it comes to pets.

1. Check the AH.  I watch for pets that I don’t have, and I’ll also watch the prices so I become familiar with what a “pet sale” looks like.  I’ve dropped 5k on pets before, but the sale was there!  I have every single pet in the AH, except a few rarer ones that pop up every now and again for like 12k.  (ouch!)

2. I pay attention to holiday pets.  Sometimes Blizz sneaks in a new pet, and other times there will be a pet available that I was not aware of.  I check up on this on my faithful pet site.   This site is very very helpful when it comes to pet collecting.

It seems though that I have reached the point where I have to start farming.  My first farm pets are the Kirin Tor Familiar, and the Giant Sewer Rat.

There is a guide to the Kirin Tor Familiar here.  I set my hearth to Dal, and the first thing I did was run around to all the book locations to see if they had spawned.  I found some books this way, and other books I would sit and wait for if I had time.  I found it best to look for books early in the morning, or late at night server time.

The nice thing about farming the rat in the underbelly of Dal is that I could book hunt, and fish for the rat at the same time.  I’ve had more luck book hunting than I have had with rat hunting! My eyes glaze over fishing for that little devil!

So far I have been book hunting for almost two weeks off and on, and I have one book left to aquire…and one damn rat O:)

But these are two logical pets to farm together, so hopefuly I’m successful in the near future! 125 pets here I come!
